Exit Loan Counseling

Do you have federal student loans? Yes? Cool. If you have taken out federal student loans, you will need to begin repaying them 6 months after graduation, dropping below half-time status, or if you stop out of school.  Exit loan counseling familiarizes you with what loans you have and assists you in creating a plan to pay them off. Exit loan counseling is required for everyone who takes out federal loans and needs to be completed as a student exists in their school. Click on the video on the right to familiarize yourself with repayment options before starting exit loan counseling. I also can help you with the basics of exit loan counseling and/or repaying loans. Schedule an appointment with me so we can talk about it. You can also click on the link below for more information about exit loan counseling.

What about private loans?

Good question. Exit loan counseling only applies to federal loans because private loans have different repayment requirements than federal loans. Check with your school's financial aid office or your private loan servicer for more info on repayment options if you have private loans.
