According to the Minnesota Office of Higher Ed Website: "The Minnesota Dream Act is a state law that provides benefits to Minnesota residents regardless of federal immigration status. Students who meet the criteria for the Minnesota Dream Act will be eligible for the following benefits: In-state resident tuition rates at public colleges and universities. State financial aid available to students who meet state residency requirements. Privately funded financial aid through public colleges and universities."
The 2021-2022 MN Dream Act Application opened up on Oct. 1, 2020. I strongly encourage you to fill out the MN Dream Act when it opens in the fall - this will ensure your school prioritizes your financial aid and maximizes your potential state funding. There are two deadlines to keep in mind when filing the Minnesota Dream Act: Minnesota State Grant and School deadlines. You will need to complete the Minnesota before the due date to be considered for State and School funding. Below are the deadlines for the 2020-2021 Minnesota Dream Act:
1. Minnesota State Grant Deadline: 30 days after term starts
